A 40-Year Dream, Now a Reality
JimBo Gordey's passion for cattle started on a small Louisiana farm and grew stronger after watching "The Rare Breed"—a 1966 film about bringing Hereford cattle to Texas. That childhood dream never faded.
After 38 years in the insurance industry, JimBo retired and met Cindy, a nursing professor who shared his values of hard work, integrity, and service. Together, they turned that lifelong dream into reality.
They founded G&L Cattle Company and Gordey's Best Beef—named to honor both their fathers, Gordey and Lawson. Today, Cindy brings the same precision and care from nursing education to their ranch, managing operations while JimBo oversees the cattle.
What started as a boy's dream is now a family legacy delivering premium Angus beef to your table.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much freezer space will I need for a Beef Share?
You'll need approximately 12- 18 cubic feet for a half and 6-7 cubic feet of freezer space for a quarter, which is about the size of a standard chest freezer.
How long will the beef last in my freezer?
When properly stored in your freezer, our vacuum-sealed beef will maintain optimal quality for 12 months for ground beef and up to 18 months for steaks and roasts.
How is the beef packaged?
All cuts are individually vacuum-sealed to preserve freshness and prevent freezer burn. Each package is clearly labeled with the cut name and weight. Boxes are carefully packed with eco-friendly insulation and sufficient dry ice to ensure everything arrives frozen.

Our beef is grass-fed and grain-finished, providing the perfect balance of flavor and nutrition. All feed—both grass and grain—is grown right on our family farm, ensuring complete quality control from start to finish.
