A Dream Four Decades in the Making
JimBo Gordey's love for cattle began while raising cattle on a small farm in Louisiana. That dream was amplified as a young man watching "The Rare Breed" – a 1966 film about bringing Hereford cattle from England to Texas. That childhood dream stayed with him through a 38-year career in the insurance industry, until he and his wife Cindy finally made it a reality with G&L Cattle Company and Gordey's Best Beef. After retiring from his successful insurance agency, JimBo met Cindy, a nursing professor who shared his values of hard work, integrity, and serving others. Together, they founded their ranch – named G&L to honor both their fathers (Gordey and Lawson). While Cindy continues her work in nursing education, she brings the same attention to detail and care for others to their beef business, handling accounting and record-keeping while actively participating in every aspect of ranch life.
